Karnataka high court extends interim order against bus strike

Bengaluru: The high court Thursday extended till June 2 its interim order restraining transport corporation employees from going ahead with their strike.

A vacation division bench of Justices Suraj Govindaraj and K Manmadha Rao said the court will consider the progress of the conciliation meeting between employees and the authorities on the next date of hearing. The meeting is scheduled on May 25.

The court is hearing a PIL filed by homemaker C Vedavathi and construction worker HV Sreedhara, both residents of Bengaluru. On May 19, the court issued a restraint order on transport employees’ proposal to commence bus strike from May 20.
