The shipments comprising items returned by customers are said to have gone missing between February 1 and May 24. It came to light during a recent internal audit. Myntra's representative Srihari filed a complaint with

Marathahalli police

on Saturday against the suspect, Manjunath, who was responsible for returning the shipments from the cancelled orders to Myntra.

According to police, Instakart Service Pvt Ltd, a logistic firm, had deployed Manjunath on SGR Dental College Road route in Munnekolala area to collect shipments from cancelled orders and he was supposed to return them to the Myntra office.

Investigation revealed the suspect opened the shipments, took away the goods and replaced them with used goods or stones to ensure there was no difference in weight. After repacking the shipments, he returned them to the company.

Police have registered a case under IPC Sections 381 (theft by servant) and 408 (criminal breach of trust by servant) against Manjunath, who is absconding

Police said brand-new shoes in the packages were replaced with used ones. "We have asked the complainant to give us the audit report, including the details of products packed and items in the returned shipments," an officer said.
