By HP Punyavathi

BENGALURU: Four children from the city donated their pocket money to help repair a government school.

Nidhi

Shankar Reddy, Neha Reddy, Dhruva Reddy and

Deekhshitha Reddy

saved around Rs 1.5 lakh and spent it on development work of a government primary school near Kalyan Nagar.

Deeksha is a class 4th student, Dhruva studies in 8th standard, Neha is a SSLC student while Nidhi is a pre-university student.

Thanks to them, the government primary school now has a good toilet facility after it got repaired. The benches and walls of the classrooms have also been painted.

Son of Nidhi’s maid had told her about the poor condition of his school. Nidhi decided to do something about it. She started saving her pocket money and also asked for help from her brothers and sisters.

The parents were not aware about their kids' kind gesture and were informed about it by the school teachers.

“We are studying in a well-facilitated school but how are the poor students going to study without the fundamental facilities? So we decided to save some amount from our pocket money for that school’s development work,” said Nidhi.
