Visit to ex-lover’s house in Bengaluru costs man his life
Bengaluru: A 27-year-old man allegedly died after being brutally assaulted by the husband and relatives of his former lover in Shyamanna Garden, leading to Byatarayanapura police registering a murder case.
The deceased, Mohammed Kashif, was a resident of Beedi Colony in Ramanagara district and a painter by profession. He was in love with a woman a few years ago, but they later separated due to unknown reasons. Around four years ago, the woman married Mohammed Akbar, a resident of Shyamanna Garden, and lives there with her husband and his family.
According to a complaint filed by Kashif’s younger brother, Mohammed Imran, the woman allegedly contacted Kashif over phone on May 25 and asked him to meet her at her residence. Kashif visited the house in the evening.
While they were talking, the woman’s husband, his brothers, relatives, and friends allegedly noticed them around 6pm and confronted Kashif. Imran alleged that the group brutally assaulted Kashif and later forced him to sign on a blank sheet of paper while warning him not to contact the woman again. The residents intervened and dispersed the crowd. Kashif was then taken to a private hospital in Bapujinagar for first aid. Later, family members took him home.
However, his condition worsened overnight as he complained of severe pain and breathing difficulties. Early on May 26, the family rushed him to a private hospital, where doctors advised them to shift him to Ramanagara Govt Hospital., but doctors there declared Kashif brought dead around 8am.
Police are awaiting the post-mortem report for further action.
