3 cars, with heart patient in 1, collide after cattle strays in
Bhopal: Three cars, including one purportedly transporting a heart patient to a city hospital, were damaged in a chain collision after stray cattle suddenly appeared on the road in the Parwalia area on the outskirts of the city. No one was injured in the incident. Based on a complaint, Parwalia police on Sunday evening registered a case against the driver of the rear vehicle with the patient.
Parwalia SHO Rohit Nagar said that complainant Anis Ansari, 52, a resident of Biaora in Rajgarh district, lodged a complaint along with his friend Sharik Khan. Ansari runs a TV repair business in Biaora. He said that on Feb 14 at around 4.45 pm, he was travelling from Biaora to Bhopal, carrying customers' LCD TVs for repair, with Sharik accompanying him. A car was moving ahead of his vehicle.About 100 metres past the Parwalia bridge, stray cattle suddenly came in front of the leading car, forcing its driver to apply the brakes. Ansari also stopped his vehicle, but a speeding car coming from behind rammed into his car, pushing it into the vehicle ahead. His car suffered major damage at both the front and rear, and four LCD TVs kept in the boot were also damaged. The front car, with a family from Kurawar, was also damaged. No one in either vehicle sustained injuries. After the collision, the occupants of the rear car told Ansari they were rushing a patient to Bhopal and assured that the damage would be compensated before leaving the spot. Speaking to TOI, Ansari said the vehicle that hit his car belonged to a person from Shyampur, and they were carrying a heart patient for treatment. "The driver was likely under pressure due to the patient's condition. The cattle suddenly jumped onto the national highway, which caused the accident. On humanitarian grounds, we cooperated and allowed the car carrying the patient to proceed to the hospital," he said. SHO Nagar said that police registered a case and are investigating the matter.
