BHOPAL: A 40-year-old woman was allegedly sexually harassed and assaulted by a neighbour in Bairagarh locality on October 18. The case was registered at Bairagarh police station on Saturday.
Police said that survivor, a resident of Bairagarh locality, stated in her complaint that accused Ram Babu, who resides close to her home was passing comments and making lewd gestures at her for the past sometime. She tried to counsel the accused in the past but instead of stopping hurled abuses at her. On October 18 when she was going out for some work, the accused stopped her outside his home and sexually harassed her. When she protested, he assaulted her and hurled abuses if she dared to approach the police.
Fed-up of the harassment, the woman approached Bairagarh police who said a case of assault and sexual harassment has been registered.
