CM helpline plaint withdrawal: Madhya Pradesh HC summons Narsinghpur SP

BHOPAL/JABLPUR: Taking exception to an incident in which police personnel had seized mobile phone of a person and withdrew his complaint lodged with the CM Helpline at Narsinghpur district, MP high court has summoned district superintendent of police, Narsinghpur, to appear in court and tell what action was taken against the police personnel concerned.

Petitioner Abhishek Rai, a resident of Narsinghpur said that the former TI of Narsinghpur police station Amit Kumar Dangi seized his mobile phone and withdrew his complaint lodged with the CM Helpline.

During hearing of the petition, counsel for state government informed that the inspector concerned and a constable have been place under suspension and a departmental enquiry was being conducted against them.

However, the petitioner said that the inspector was placed under suspension as a formality only as he was reinstated within two weeks.

Following this, the bench of Justice Vivek Agrawal decided to summon the SP Narsinghpur to find out from him what action was taken against the police personnel involved in the incident.
