CM Yadav felicitates sportspersons

Bhopal: Chief minister Mohan Yadav said on Friday that achievements of young players of the state in Asiad and Olympic Games are commendable. The state government will consider and implement all suggestions and proposals in letter and spirit to promote various sports and players, through better management. Coaches will also be eligible for promotions like normal teachers. While addressing National Youth Day programme at Kushabhau Thackeray Convention Center (Minto Hall) on Friday, he said that sport is also a part of curriculum in the new education policy and all efforts will be made to encourage budding players. During the programme, Yadav honoured young entrepreneurs for their work in various fields. National youth awardee Sakshi Bhardwaj, Ninad Adhikari awarded by Akashvani for Santoor Vadan, Ishaan Shukla in the field of writing and Deepanshi Vajpayee in the field of craftsmanship were felicitated. Medal winning players and coaches of international competitions were also honoured. Arjun awardee for para-canoeing, Prachi Yadav was given Rs 1.50 crore and gold medallist in horse riding in Asian Games 2023 Sudipti Hajela was awarded a prize money of Rs 1 crore. The CM presented prize money of Rs 50 lakh each to three silver medallists of Asian Games 2023, Neha Thakur (sailing), Preeti Rajak (shooting) and Kapil Parmar (judo). Five other players were given a prize money of Rs 25 lakh each. These include Dronacharya awardee Shivendra Singh (hockey) and four bronze medal winners of Asian Games 2023. Arjun awardee in Hockey Sushila Chanu was also given a memento.TNN
