BHOPAL: A 35-year-old constable was stoned to death in Madhya Pradesh's Damoh district by three suspects over a petty issue late on Friday night.


The incident took place at Kasai Mandi area under Kotwali police station at around 11.30pm.

The deceased identified as Surendra Singh was posted as a constable in SAF (state armed force).

SP Damoh, DR Tenivar said, “Three accused have been rounded up and detailed investigations are going on. The deceased was in civil dress and he saw these three youths having a dispute over some issue on the road, and objected to it. Then they threw a stone at him which hit him on the head. He was rushed to hospital where he died during treatment”.

Sources said that the deceased had left the SAF outpost at night and was going home, when just close to the outpost he found few locals quarreling. His colleagues rushed after hearing chaos to find him lying down with injuries in head, added sources.
