Bhopal: Kamla Nagar police investigating the case in which a two bike-borne accused allegedly attacked a gym manager outside a girl’s hostel in Kamla Nagar area past midnight on Sunday, have zeroed in on the suspect on Monday but could not nab him yet.
Police have found some evidence in which the role of the gym manager’s female friend, whom he had gone to drop at the girls hostel, was found suspicious. She was in contact with the prime suspect before and after the incident and gave contradictory statements.
The bullet pierced through the 24-year-old gym manager’s right arm and he sped his car towards a private hospital in Arera Hills where he was undergoing treatment.
Kamla Nagar SHO Anil Bajpai said that the complainant Vivek Pandey, a resident of Tulsi Nagar, works as a gym manager at a private club in Arera Colony. He stated in his complaint that a girl, who studied in the college with him, presently runs a girl’s hostel in Nehru Nagar. He said that on Saturday night, he along with the girl had gone to a party at a restaurant located on Kerwa Dam Road. After the party, around 1am, Vivek was going to drop the girl at her hostel in Nehru Nagar by his car.
SHO Bajpai said that Vivek alleged that when they reached the girl’s hostel and his friend was getting down from the car, suddenly two accused riding on a bike reached the spot and pointed a pistol at him. A scuffle ensued during which the accused fired a shot with the pistol at him. The bullet pierced through his right arm and he fled the spot with the car.
It is suspected that the accused were following Vivek’s car from Bhadbhada Square.
