BHOPAL: Angered by his sister talking to a neighbourhood boy, a minor boy stabbed her to death using an iron trident in Katangi city of Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday. The accused fled after the girl, 14, was critically injured.
Witnesses said the accused was standing at a distance and observed his sister talking to the boy aged around 17. When she sat on the boy's bike, her 15-year-old brother rushed towards them, pushed his sister off the bike, and attacked her with a trident. He struck her four times on her back and waist, leaving her critically injured. Leaving her injured fled into the forest.
After the attack, the girl was rushed to the Katangi Health Center by locals and later referred to Jabalpur Medical College, where she died around 11 am.
Boy had conflicts with sister According to police, the deceased had four siblings - two brothers and two sisters, and her father is the Kotwar (village watchman) of the area. The boy reportedly had ongoing conflicts with his sister and had physically assaulted her on previous occasions. Villagers said that three days before the incident, the minor girl had gone to Jabalpur with the same boy, which had triggered a confrontation between the siblings. The boy is alleged to have beaten up his sister on that occasion as well. The Katangi police have registered a case of murder against the minor boy.
