MP teen strikes deal with minors to kill dad, stepmom

Bhopal: A shocking double murder unfolded at Lakhanpur village in Madhya Pradesh’s Anuppur district where a teenager, barely weeks into adulthood, allegedly orchestrated the killing of his father and stepmother over a property dispute. The teen struck a Rs 5 lakh deal with other minors to get his parents eliminated. It left his father and domestic help dead, and the stepmother critically injured.

Police said, the conspiracy was allegedly hatched by Alok alias Suraj Patel, son of Rajendra alias Bablu Patel (40) from his first marriage.

The teenager believed he was being sidelined within the family, both emotionally and in matters of inheritance, in favour of his nine-year-old half-brother.

The grievance had been building inside him for years, police said. The accused allegedly paid Rs 300 to his ‘hired killers’ to fill the fuel tank of their bikes and promised to pay the remaining amount by selling off a tractor once the job was done.

On Dec 10, Rajendra and his domestic help Seema Baiga were attacked while asleep in the balcony of his under-construction house. Rajendra’s second wife, Roopa Patel, has been unconscious in a hospital since the attack.
