Newlywed woman died by suicide in Gandhi Nagar

Bhopal: A newlywed 21-year-old woman died allegedly by suicide at her home in the Gandhi Nagar locality. She consumed poison and died while undergoing treatment at a hospital two days later on Wednesday night. As her statements could not be recorded, the exact reason behind her extreme step could not be ascertained. Gandhi Nagar police registered a case and started investigations.Investigation officer ASI Pravin Singh said that the deceased, Riya Dhanak, 21, a resident of Laukhedi in Gandhi Nagar, married her neighbour Jagdish Dhanak around three years ago. Jagdish works in a private job. The couple have a daughter.ASI Singh said that Riya consumed poison over some issue at her home on May 19. When her condition started deteriorating, her husband rushed her to a hospital where she died while undergoing treatment on Wednesday night. Acting on information, Gandhi Nagar police registered a case and started investigations. Being a newlywed woman's death case, further investigation will be conducted by an ACP level officer. Further investigations are ongoing.
