No power supply in over 1 lakh govt schools, reveals min

Bhopal: In a startling revelation, Madhya Pradesh school education minister Kunwar Vijay Shah on Monday stated that over one lakh government primary and high schools in the state do not have power supply at present.

He revealed this on the first day of the assembly session here. The question was raised by MLA Subedar Singh Rajodha who wanted to know about the facilities in government schools to protect the students from hot and humid weather from June to September.

Replying to the questions, Shah said, "There are 100234 government schools in Madhya Pradesh that don't have power supply. A new proposal for getting them the connections and regular power supply throughout the year is under process. No money was allotted in government schools of Madhya Pradesh in 2015-16."
