Swadeshi goods are symbols of our heritage: CM
Bhopal: CM Mohan Yadav and BJP state president Hemant Khandelwal on Saturday addressed a state-level seminar on Swadeshi se Swabalamban (Swadeshi to Self-Reliance), jointly organised by the Jan Abhiyan Parishad and the Swadeshi Jagran Manch at the Kushabhau Thakre Auditorium. This seminar is being held at a critical time when the US govt has levied a 50% tariff on Indian manufactured goods.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that swadeshi (indigenous) goods are not only products but also a symbol of our national identity, heritage, and honour. "The ‘Vocal for Local' campaign started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a medium to further this spirit of Indianness. Our indigenous products are not only stronger, more economical, and of better quality than foreign products, but we also get maximum benefit from purchasing them," the chief minister said.

The chief minister appealed that every Indian citizen should not only use indigenous products themselves but also inspire others to do the same. "This patriotism will strengthen our economy. The feeling of indigenous is the easy path to true national service," Yadav said. The chief minister released posters and brochures prepared by the Jan Abhiyan Parishad for the Swadeshi campaign.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Jan Abhiyan Parishad and Swadeshi Jagran Manch for public awareness and promotion of indigenous products.
Yadav said that various steps are being taken by the Centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi towards the creation of a self-reliant and prosperous India. "Indian goods and Indian technology have created a buzz in the world," Chief Minister Yadav argued. "The demand for goods manufactured in our country has increased at the global level. This global demand further nourishes our national self-respect. The entire nation is ideologically committed to Swadeshi. Our culture itself teaches us the feeling of Swadeshi," he said.
BJP State President Hemant Khandelwal said that we should preserve our culture and heritage and cooperate in every work, every campaign related to the govt's Swadeshi spirit. "Together we will bring awareness, only then will the spirit of Swadeshi reach every citizen. Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav are constantly trying to promote Swadeshi," Khandelwal said.
He further said, "Campaigns like clay Ganesha and water conservation being run by Jan Abhiyan Parishad are inspiring society towards Swadeshi. Swadeshi Jagran Manch also deserves praise for its work towards bringing public awareness. The resolve will get strengthened," he said.
