‘Vehicles of empowerment’: CM sets biker ‘queens’ on a roll across ‘Ajab-Gajab MP’
Bhopal: Ahead of International Women's Day, CM Mohan Yadav on Saturday flagged off the ‘Queens on the Wheels 3.0' tour, calling it a bold demonstration of women's empowerment and Bhopal's safe roads that could help showcase the state's tourism gems to the world.Addressing the flagging-off ceremony, the CM said the event, into its third edition, is not just a bike rally but has come to represent the state's new identity to the world through a demonstration of women's empowerment, courage and tourism.
"This isn't just a bike rally, it is a campaign for courage, women's safety, and a vehicle to promote the ‘Ajab-Gajab' identity of Madhya Pradesh," the CM said, as he posed for pictures with the riders and Tourism Sakhis. Welcoming women bikers from across the country to the ‘Heart of India', the chief minister said MP is not only ‘Ajab-Gajab' but ever-vigilant to ensure women's safety. The CM flagged off the ‘Queens' on wheels, a complement of 25 women superbikers from different parts of the country, from his official residence on Saturday.Led by 62-year-old Dr. Neeta Khandekar from Mumbai, the 25 superbikers, including eight from Bhopal, embarked on a grueling 1,400-km journey across the state's popular tourist sites such as Sanchi, Udayagiri, Chanderi, Khajuraho, Kuno National Park, Gwalior, Mitawali, and Orchha. The seven-day adventure would culminate in Bhopal on March 13.The CM said the unique journey over a week would stand as a shining example of tourism promotion and women's safety, while also reflecting the changing face of society. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, MP continues its journey on the path to progress, setting new milestones, he added. Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar also attended the flagging-off ceremony.The diverse group of women bikers comprise five each from Mumbai and Nagpur; Sara Khan, Rajnandini, Divya Raman, Mayuri Soni, Disha Rakeshiya, Unnati Chaurasia, Sejal Kushwaha, Mehak Batham from Bhopal; Shabnam Bano from Gwalior; Sona Priyadarshini from Bengaluru, Sayanti Ghosh from Kolkata, Kalyani Potekar from Pune, Dr. Sumita from Noida, and Kavita Jadhav from Sambhaji Nagar.Get the latest lifestyle updates on Times of India, along with Women's day wishes, messages and quotes !
