What led to 22-year-old’s suicide? Cops still clueless

Bhopal: On Wednesday, police officials talked to the friends of the 22-year-old girl, who had topped the state in the 12th-grade arts stream from the Madhya Pradesh Board and committed suicide on Sunday night in Rewa district. The mystery, however, remains unclear as her batchmates said that they had no idea of what was going on in her mind, say police.Khushi Singh, the daughter of Ramesh Singh Parihar, was found dead by her family at Chunri village on Monday morning. She had passed her class 12 examination in 2020 with a score of 97.2%, securing 486 out of 500 marks. She was ranked first in the state's top 10 list for the arts stream."We talked to a few of the batchmates of the deceased girl, though all of them said that they had no idea, or no such thing has ever come to their notice which could indicate that she could take such an extreme step. They all unanimously said that she was normally very quiet and affable," Sohagi police station in charge, Pawan Shukla, told TOI.He added, "We even tried talking to Khushi's parents, but they were not in a condition to talk as they were still shocked. Detailed investigations are being carried out. Once we are able to record statements of the parents, things could be clear."
