Jagatsinghpur (SC) Lok Sabha constituency, one of the 21 parliamentary seats in Odisha state, is categorized as a Scheduled Caste (SC) constituency. It includes parts of Cuttack and Puri districts and the entire Jagatsinghpur district. With a literacy rate of 77.36 per cent, this constituency reflects a significant level of educational attainment among its residents. It has 7 legislative assembly segments.





The election was successfully held on June 1. The prominent candidates contesting in the elections for Jagatsinghpur Lok Sabha Constituency include Amarendra Das representing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Prasanta Kumar Muduli running from Biju Janata Dal (BJD), and Pratima Mallick from Indian National Congress (INC).

In the 2019 election, there was a voter turnout of 74.61 per cent. BJD’s candidate won with 6,19,985 votes, followed by BJP’s candidate Bibhu Prasad Tarai who got 3,48,330 votes.

In 2014, Kulamani Samal from BJD won the Lok Sabha election with 6,24,492 votes, followed by Bibhu Prasad Tarai who was a part of INC at that time, with 3,48,098 votes.

The Jagatsinghpur parliamentary seat boasts a diverse voter demographic. Approximately, 20.63 per cent are Scheduled Caste (SC), 1.04 per cent are Scheduled Tribe (ST), and 5 per cent are Muslim, as per the voter data.
