Talking about a series of jail-related issues, Nath had remarked that the prison department was unique in that "almost everyone was facing one disciplinary inquiry or the other." Sensing an opportunity, opposition BJD was quick to latch on to it, questioning the public conduct of a senior IPS officer.

The fair has always drawn massive crowds but this time, the organisers have roped in enthusiastic content creators to generate hashtags, viral reels and fun content on social media around it.Jaundice blame gameFollowing a jaundice outbreak in Cuttack, a political spat ensued between Barabati-Cuttack MLA Sofia Firdous and Cuttack mayor Subash Singh. Firdous accused Singh of corruption, alleging he failed to change the sanitation agencies. Singh responded angrily, dragging her family into the dispute. Although they did not confront each other directly, both made statements to the media.
