Robbers loot ₹8L from bank in Odisha

BALASORE: Unidentified armed miscreants looted more than Rs 8 lakh from a Bank of Baroda branch in Barunagadia under Basta police limits in Balasore district on Friday.

Sources said the armed miscreants came on bikes and a SUV barged into the bank, threatened the staff and customers and looted the cash. Two of them wore face masks while all were talking in Bengali. The miscreants locked the employees and customers inside before decamping with the cash.

After entering the bank, the miscreants cut the connection of CCTV cameras, said a customer.

An FIR was lodged at Basta police station in connection with the incident. Police are scanning the CCTV footage to trace the accused.
