Another Odisha horror: Brothers, 60 and 62, arrested for raping, impregnating 18-year-old in Jagatsinghpur; threatened her to stay silent

KENDRAPADA: Two brothers, aged 60 and 62, were arrested on Thursday for allegedly gang-raping and impregnating an 18-year-old girl in Jagatsinghpur district. The girl's father file a complaint.

The girl, who is seven months pregnant, reportedly suffered repeated sexual assaults by the accused over the past eight months. This case follows closely on the heels of another gang-rape incident reported in the same district earlier this week.

According to the FIR lodged by the girl's father, the accused allegedly committed the crime multiple times. The girl was a minor at the time of the assaults, said additional superintendent of police (ASP) Satyajit Das.

The relationship between the accused and the girl was kept hidden until the girl revealed her pregnancy to the accused, who then allegedly threatened her to keep silent about their involvement.

The situation came to light when the girl's mother noticed physical changes in her daughter. The girl has undergone a medical examination at the district headquarters hospital in Jagatsinghpur
