1,259 JBT teachers continue to protest

Panchkula: ‘Low merit’ and ‘not definite’ junior basic training (JBT) passed candidate continued their indefinite protest against state government on Monday and gheraoed the Shiksha Sadan, Sector 5.

Protestors said 1259 candidates including 317 ‘not definite’ and 1005 ‘low merit’ candidates demanded job in the education department.

They sloganeered against the state government for over two hours outside Shiksha Sadan. A 11-member delegation of protestors met the additional director Vandana Disodia and submitted their memorandum to her.

Department officials assured that they will take the candidate on adhoc basis and their file would be taken up soon.

President of JBT welfare association Rajender Sharma said, “We want government to take us on adhoc basis in the department, till high court does not take further decision in our case.”
