Chandigarh: Two residents of Panchkula were booked for allegedly duping Canara Bank in Chandigarh by taking a loan of Rs 68 lakh on forged documents. A case has been registered.

, told the police that Gaurav Goyal, a resident of Sector 9,Panchkula and proprietor of Sudharma Steel Industries Plot at Old Ambala Road, Dhakoli, approached him for a loan. Goyal said Sushant was accompanied by his business partner Naresh Goyal, a resident of Sector 20, Panchkula. They sought a bank loan on a ground floor flat at Chaitnaya Homes,

After verifying the documents, the bank approved a loan of Rs 68 lakh but when the accused failed to pay installments, the account was declared NPA (non performing asset). While verifying the loan again, the bank found that the accused had submitted forged papers to get the loan.
A complaint was filed and police registered a case under Section 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 467 (Forgery of valuable security, will, etc.), 468 (Forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (Whoever fraudulently or dishonestly uses asgenuine any document or electronic record) and 120-B (punishment for criminal conspiracy) of the IPC at Manimajra police station. Further investigations are on.
