CHANDIGARH: Around 10-12 people armed with blunt and sharp-edged weapons allegedly attacked staff members of a club in Sector 7 on Sunday evening.
Grapho club owner Akash Thakur said around 4. 30 pm, his staff was making preparations for a Christmas party near the entry, when one person tried to walk into the club. The staff refused him entry. They then found around 10-12 persons carrying weapons following the man.
The accused allegedly started attacking the staff members. When club’s bar manager Rajdeep came to help the female staff, one of the accused used a knife on him, injuring his right hand.
The accused also allegedly pelted stones and bricks, damaging the club wall. Later, all of them fled. No bouncers were present in the club at the time of the incident as they generally report for duty at night.
The club officials called up cops. Police took away CCTV camera footage. Copssaid they have registered a daily diary report (DDR) and begun a probe. The bar manager was taken to a hospital. The club owner alleged,“One of the clubs near ours had organised a Christmas party during the day. The accused had fought over there. ”
