Chandigarh, a private non-profit institution on Friday contributed seven lakh ruppees to the prime minister care fund constituted to control the coronavirus pandemic. The amount was collected from the
contributions
made by the school’s staff
members
and management.
While all the teachers and clerical staff of the school contributed their 1.5 days’ salary to the fund, the management contributed an equal amount taking the tally to the said sum.
The Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund) was created on the March 28 by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the Covid-19 pandemic. Contributions of the school to the fund shall be used to combat, contain and undertake relief efforts against the corona virus outbreak across India.
Vineeta Arora, principal of Bhavan Vidyalaya (senior wing) Chandigarh informed that school is also doing its bit by contributing to the food being arranged for 500 people daily, in collaboration with other schools in the tricity of Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali.
