CHANDIGARH: With just a day to go to Eid, the markets of Sector 19 and Sector 22 were choc-a-block with festive shoppers. Where on one side buyers were busy shopping dry fruits for kheer and new clothes to celebrate the festival, sellers were happy with the good business.

The owner of a dry-fruit shop in Sector 22, Ravinderpal Singh, said the demand for dry fruits and sevayian had increased this year.

of Noor Masjid, Sector 26, said, "The masjid is all set to welcome devotees for the namaz. The blend of different cultures in our country is always gratifying."

Where on one side elders were busy with preparations, youngsters were excited about Eidi. Rahat Ali, a student of Chandigarh University, said, "The beauty of this festival resides in feeling of togetherness. My relatives who live in

London

are supposed to come here for Eid. For youngsters, Eidi is best part about the festival."

On the last day, people did not even bother much about increased prices. Mohammad Shakeel, who was buying gifts for his family, said, "It's obvious that during festival season, sellers hike the price to some extent. But it's part of business. As long as prices are affordable for everyone, there is no trouble."
