City to host sub-junior boxing meet June 13-14

Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Amateur Boxing Association will hold the 39th Sub-Junior Boys and 20th Sub-Junior Girls State Boxing Championship at the Sector 42 Sports Complex boxing hall on June 13-14.

The event will double as trials to pick the UT team for the 5th U-15 National Boxing Championship at Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar (June 23–30).

Document verification, entries and weigh-in will be conducted on June 12 from 4pm at the venue. Eligible participants must be Chandigarh residents studying in city institutions and born between Jan 1, 2012, and Dec 31, 2013.

Boxers must submit Aadhaar (with history), school ID, residence proof and a recent photograph. Entry fee is Rs 200.

Bouts will be held across 15 weight categories (30–33kg to 70kg+). Winners and selected pugilists will represent Chandigarh at the nationals.
