SIRSA: Police have registered a cross FIR in a dispute between the wife of BJP Sirsa candidate Ashok Tanwar and Congress leader Naveen Kedia over allegations of distribution of money during voting in Sirsa constituency. Police have formed an SIT under a DSP to investigate the allegatons.

On May 25 evening, the day of voting, Congress leader Naveen Kedia and son Naman Kedia had reached outside a polling booth at Jain School over claims of distribution of money. Tanwar's wife was already present there. There was an altercation between the two. This enraged the supporters of Congress and BJP. The glass of Kedia's car was broken by stone pelting.

Kedia alleged that his son and his supporters reached the office located on Laxman Das Arora street in Rori Bazar in a car. Later, Tanwar's wife, Avantika, and her supporters also came there and attacked them, he salleged.

In her complaint, Avantika alleged that she and her daughter were misbehaved with and assaulted, as Kedia and Rajan Mehta stood and instructed this.

Police said Sirsa City police station has registered a case on a complaint by Naman Kedia, son of Naveen Kedia, against Avantika, her son and daughter, Shubham Chindalia, Likhil Tekewadia, Vishal Soni, Ankur Soni and others.

A case has been registered on a complaint by Avantika against Congress leader Naveen Kedia, Naman Kedia and otherss under sections 147 (rioting), 149 (common object of unlawful assembly), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), 354 (assault of criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 506 (criminal intimidation), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
