The court of additional district and session judge (ADSJ) Dr Chander Hass has imposed a fine of Rs 31,000 on both convicts and ordered them to face extra jail in case they default to pay the fine.

A police spokesperson told that the father of a minor victim approached Garhi police of Narwana town on April 23, 2022 alleging that his neighbor identified as Surjeet raped his minor daughter and captured a video. Thereafter, he blackmailed her and called in a hotel of Narwana town in Jind district where she was raped again by the accused and his friend Aasish.

The accused threatened her if she revealed the truth to anyone.

Getting his complaint, Garhi police lodged a case against the accused under various sections of IPC and POCSO act. The matter was under trial in which the ADSJ Dr Chander Hass awarded sentences to both persons. The order says that the main accused Surjeet will face 20 RI whereas his friend Aasish has got 10 year RI. The ADSJ awarded 20 RI to Surjeet under POCSO (6), 342 and 34 of IPC whereas Aasish was sentenced under section POCSO 4 along with sub section 17 and 342, 34 of IPC.
