Haryana stubble burning: Chief secy warns panchayatiraj representatives against lapses

Dhesi said that it would be added to the ACRs of the sub divisional officers that the concerned officer has shown this much seriousness in curbing such incidents.
Apart from this, Dhesi directed to suspend sarpanches of village Hizrawan Kalan and Hizrawan Khurd and the nambardar of village Kasimpur of district Fatehabad for not cooperating with the district authorities in keeping a tab on such incidents.
Dhesi, who was presiding over a meeting of administrative officers of Fatehabad, Sirsa and Jind, said that the period till November 25 is very crucial because this is the period when maximum cases of stubble burning are reported. In view of this, the chief cecretary constituted two committees. A committee comprising of members of Revenue, Agriculture and District Development and Panchayatiraj departments would monitor the sensitive villages all the time whereas the committee of sub divisional officer and tehsildars would visit different villages of the district from time to time.
In the meeting, sarpanches, panches, nambardars, gram sachivs, patwaris, chaukidars and government employees were strictly cautioned that if they or their relatives are found burning crop residue then action would be initiated against them.
