CHANDIGARH: Haryana’s BJP government collected Rs 205 crore as job application fee in eight years. The money went to Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) that hires group-C and D employees, besides Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) that selects A and B group officers.
The HSSC made Rs 170 crore from the applicants and the HPSC Rs 35 crore. The two recruiting agencies made this collection from October 2014 to October 2022, and the Haryana government shared these figures in the state assembly’s just-concluded winter session in response to an unstarred question from Ellenabad legislator Abhay Singh Chautala of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD).
The data is significant, since Haryana faces severe unemployment. In these eight years of the BJP government, these recruitment agencies had to cancel several of their recruitment tests after results.
The government withdrew 1,619 posts, which includes 1,035 of trained graduate teacher (TGT) of English, 523 of Sanskrit postgraduate teacher (PGT), and 61 of junior lecture assistants. In the case of Sanskrit PGTs, even the result had come out. Many job examinations were also cancelled after the question papers leaked.
