Chandigarh: A waiter at a tavern in Daria was arrested for allegedly snatching a mobile phone from a man on Wednesday night. Raj Kumar Verma, a manager in Gun Carriage Factory, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, had come with a colleague for official work. Both were staying at a hotel in Daria. At 11 pm, the two went for a walk. The accused, Anuj Singh (20), came from behind and snatched Verma’s phone. Verma ran after him but slipped and fell. Cops said they arrested the accused the same night. On Thursday, SSP Kuldeep Singh Chahal rewarded Verma with Rs 5,000 for his efforts in trying to catch the accused.
