Man gets life term in 2-yr-old murder case
Hisar: A local court here has sentenced Kamal, a resident of Tibba Danasherin, to life imprisonment in a nearly two-year-old case of murder of Vipul Anand. Kamal had attacked Anand with a knife during a theft in Model Town Extension, Hisar.District and sessions judge Dinesh Kumar Mittal also imposed Rs 15,000 fine on Kamal. In case of non-payment of fine, the period of punishment will be extended by six months, the court ordered.On January 8, 2021, the Urban Estate police station had registered a case of murder and theft against an unknown person on the complaint of Nirdosh Sharma, a resident of Sector 20, Sirsa.Sharma had alleged that on January 7, 2021, he visited the house of Vinod Sharma, a resident of Model Town Extension, Hisar. After dinner, he went to sleep in another house in the neighborhood along with Vinod’s son Vipul Anand.Next day, I got up at 10 am and went to Vinod Sharma’s house to have food. After some time, I went to the new house with my sister-in-law Pooja and cousin Vipul Anand. Vipul was walking ahead of us and went inside the house first. When we reached the gate, we saw a young man attacking Vipul with a knife. The man had a cloth tied over his face. He pushed us and ran away. Later, Vipul was taken to civil hospital for treatment where the doctors declared him dead, Sharma had told the police.On the basis of the video footage of the incident, the police arrested accused Kamal, a resident of Tibba Danasher. During interrogation, the accused had said he had gone to the house with an intention of theft.
