Masked men fire at doc after entering Talwandi Sabo clinic

Bathinda: Two masked men fired at a doctor inside his clinic at Talwandi Sabo town in Bathinda on Saturday night. Dr Dinesh Bansal (44) suffered a bullet injury in his leg. He has been admitted to a private hospital in Bathinda, nearly 25 kilometres away from the clinic. Police have registered the case of attempt to murder and under the Arms Act. The motive behind the crime is still not clear, but police suspect it to be robbery.Dr Bansal’s condition is stated to be stable.As per the complaint filed with the police by Dr Bansal’s father, Chaman Lal, the victim was sitting in his clinic, Raj Nursing Home, when the men, who are yet to be identified, entered the medical facility and got into an altercation with him. They fired at Dinesh in the leg. BJP Punjab president Ashwani Kumar Sharma, who had come to Bathinda on Sunday, visited the hospital and accused the state government of letting law and order worsen in the state. He claimed that the state government had miserably failed to control criminals. tnn
