Pb mins review Sri Anandpur Sahib bridge projects, announce Khuralgarh Sahib road upgrade
Patiala: Punjab education minister Harjot Bains and finance minister Harpal Singh Cheema on Wednesday visited the Sri Anandpur Sahib assembly constituency to review the progress of major bridge construction projects near the Sawan River, being executed at a total cost of Rs 100 crore.The bridges aimed to strengthen regional connectivity and ensure smooth movement for commuters, farmers, traders and pilgrims.
During the inspection, Bains assessed the quality and pace of construction and interacted with concerned officials. Meanwhile, expressing satisfaction with the ongoing work, the finance minister said the demand for improved infrastructure in this region was raised in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, and under the leadership of chief minister Bhagwant Mann, the issue was resolved on priority. He emphasised that the Punjab govt was committed to timely completion of infrastructure projects with full transparency and quality assurance.Once completed, these bridges will reduce travel time, enhance road safety, and contribute significantly to the economic and social development of the area.Bains announced the construction of a good quality road from Khera village, Nangal, to Shri Khuralgarh Sahib, the revered Tap Asthan of Guru Ravidas, at an estimated cost of Rs 1.5 crore. The project aims to provide better and safer road connectivity for pilgrims visiting the holy site.Bains said improving access to religious and cultural heritage places was a key priority of the state govt. The new road will ensure smooth movement for devotees, especially during religious gatherings, and will also benefit local residents by improving everyday connectivity.During the visit Bains accompanied Cheema in reviewing the bridge projects near the Sawan River.
