Probe against WFI chief: No one took report from Babita, says Yogeshwar

Rohtak: Day after former wrestler Babita Phogat accused fellow oversight committee member Radhica Sreeman of snatching the final report on sexual harassment allegations against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan, Olympic medallist Yogeshwar Dutt, who is also on this government-appointed inquiry panel, claimed that nothing of that sort had happened.
On Tuesday, Babita Phogat had alleged in Sonipat that: “I had some objections to the report, but before I could ready it fully, Radhica Sreeman snatched it from me.” Yogeshwar Dutt, who is among the six members of the committee led by iconic boxer Mary Kom, countered Babita on Wednesday, claiming that he had not seen it. Prominent wrestlers such as Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat, and Sakshi Malik are protesting at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar for action against Sharan.
Yogeshwar claimed that: “The investigation committee videorecorded the statements of all players who wanted to say anything, so there is no space of any compromise with the investigation process. All the six members were given the report to read and only after that they had put their signatures to it. There was no incident where any member was forced to sign anything. Babita Phogat had not reported on the last day for putting her signatures.”
