Rice mill owner dupes bank of ₹1.6cr, booked
Chandigarh: Police have booked a Bathinda resident for allegedly duping a bank of Rs 1.67 crore. The accused had allegedly taken a loan after mortgaging properties which were already mortgaged with other banks in Punjab. Later, the accused failed to pay EMIs. Parveen Kumar Mongia, general manager, Punjab and Sind Bank, Sector 17, alleged H S Sandhu of HS Rice and General Mills, Bathinda, was given loans of Rs 39 lakh and Rs 78 lakh. When the accused failed to pay EMIs, the bank found thatthe accused allegedly had taken loan from other banks against mortgaged properties. TNN
