UK MP meets Dhindsa after help at airport

Chandigarh: UK MP Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi on Monday met Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) president and former Union minister Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa at his residence here. Dhesi was accompanied by family. The UK MP, who had landed at Amritsar on August 3, was made to sit for two hours at Sri Guru Ramdas Jee International Airport by the immigration officers. Dhindsa claimed that thereafter, he had a conversation with Union home minister Amit Shah and Dhesi was given clearance by the airport authority. Therefore, Dhesi had especially come to Chandigarh to express his gratitude. Both leaders discussed difficulties faced by Punjabis living abroad while coming to India. tnn
