Woman held with 14.5g heroin

Chandigarh: The UT police on Tuesday arrested a woman from Sector 38 for allegedly trying to smuggle heroin in the city.

The accused has been identified as 60-year-old Geeta, a resident of Sector 38..

A police team from Sector 39 police station was patrolling in the area 38 to keep check on anti-social elements when they stopped the accused and seized 14.5 gm heroin from her possession.

The police have registered a case under the NDPS Act against her. She was produced before a local court that has sent her to judicial custody for 14 days. tnn
