15 policemen hailed for relief work by Shankar Jiwal

Chennai: Fifteen policemen were appreciated by city police commissioner Shankar Jiwal for going beyond the call of duty in clearing debris to ensure free flow of rainwater and rescuing people stranded in the recent rain. Sembium sub-inspector (SI) of police, Sridhar, rescued a destitute woman Radha, 74, at Perambur. A probationary SI Natarajan and constable Muthukrishnan of Sembium police station removed garbage blocking the free flow of water on BB Salai in Perambur. Police personnel Baskar and Arun Pandi of Thiru Vi Ka Nagar police station removed garbage that blocked water flow on Ragavan Street. Kodungaiyur SI Ramamoorthy rescued a mentally challenged pregnant woman near Redimix Company . He took her to Mercy Mission Home at Annai Velankanni Nagar.
