Vijay posted on X, "The incident of Balaji being stabbed has caused great shock. It shows the complacency of the state govt. The life of a govt doctor is not safe in such a govt super specialty hospital which provides lifesaving treatment."

"The Tamil Nadu govt should take all legal steps to ensure the safety of doctors who are working hard round the clock," Vijay said.

A resolution had been passed in the first executive council meeting of the TVK condemning the law and order scenario in the state. Citing the resolution, Vijay said the "regime is not safe for govt employees, traders and the public".

The actor-turned-politician said various incidents of crime that took place in Tamil Nadu on a daily basis had created fear among the public. He urged officials to take steps to maintain law and order.
