EPFO settles claims of 30.49 lakh members' claims in 2023-24

PUDUCHERRY: Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Chennai-Puducherry zone settled around 30.49 lakh members' claims in the financial year 2023-24, according to a release from the Press Information Bureau.

EPFO, Chennai-Puducherry zone has the jurisdiction of 10 districts in Tamil Nadu and two districts in the Union territory of Puducherry. The zone caters to the needs of 79,433 establishments involving 2.05 crore subscribers. EPFO, Chennai-Puducherry zone serves a total of 3.14 Lakh Pensioners.

"It is pertinent to mention that during the year 2023-24, about 30.49 lakh claims of members were settled and this includes an increase of about 2.74 lakh claims compared to the previous year," according to the release.

Similarly, 16,062 fresh pensioners were added in 2023-24, nearly double the number of pensioners added in the previous year.

The zone has collected outstanding dues of Rs 275.32 crore from defaulting establishments during the year 2023-24 as against Rs 16.14 crore collected during the corresponding period of the previous year. The zone resolved 97,396 grievances of members/pensioners during this period compared to 81,769 grievances resolved in 2022-23.
