Former DMK minister moves Madras high court seeking to restrain TVK’s Srinivasa Sethupathi from taking oath as MLA
CHENNAI: Former DMK minister K R Periyakaruppan has moved the Madras high court seeking to restrain TVK’s Srinivasa Sethupathi, who won from the Tiruppathur constituency by one vote, from taking oath as an MLA.
While the Tamil Nadu governor has invited actor turned politician and TVK founder Vijay to form the govt on Sunday, Periyakaruppan has filed a petition seeking a recount of votes and also seeking an interim order restraining Srinivasa Sethupathi from taking oath as an MLA.
The petition is listed for hearing on Sunday before a vacation bench comprising Justice L Victoria Gowri and Justice N Senthilkumar.
