Bliss Catchers
, a monthly event series curated by the happynesswala AVIS Viswanathan, will feature
glass artist
Anjali Venkat and creative curator-entrepreneur Dushyanth Gunashekar.
The January 2019 edition of the series, which celebrates people who have gone on to do what they love doing the most in life, will be held at Odyssey Bookstore,
Adyar
, from 7pm to 8.30pm on January 26.
Anjali Venkat graduated in economics but she has loved painting in water colours since she was a child. She remembers being drawn to a stained glass church window when she was 10 years old, which was also her inspiration to begin ‘dreaming in glass’. Today, she creates beautiful works of art from what the world sees as waste – discarded glass objects.
On the other hand, Dushyanth Gunashekar gave up his idea of wanting to be a forensic auditor when he was 23. He had a ‘better’ idea – to set up a platform for the youth to creatively express themselves. And thus was sown the seeds of Crea-Shakthi, a creative content firm, which produces and hosts 200 shows a year and trains children in theatre across 37 schools. Recently, it launched a publishing arm.
