CHENNAI: The Centre will take every measure to facilitate the film industry, said

, secretary, the
ministry of information
and broadcasting.
He addressed the film associations through video conferencing on proposed amendments on the Cinematograph Act, 1952. While interacting with the members of the South Indian film industry representatives, he assured the ministry is conducting this kind of interaction to ensure that the industry is cherished and ensure that the Indian film reaches the international markets.
As part of the initiative, the ministry has already merged the film media units under
National Film Development Corporation
. Matters related to to the anti-piracy issues will be addressed after consultation with the stakeholders of the industry, he added.
Issues pertaining to CBFC certificate, screen density issues, permission from
Animal Welfare Board
and location permission were also discussed during the interaction.
