India vs England T20 match in Chennai: Traffic diversions announced
CHENNAI: The Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP) have announced traffic diversions around the M A Chidambaram Stadium in view of the second T20 cricket match between India and England on Saturday.
An official release from the GCTP stated that the traffic diversions would be in force from 2pm to 11pm.
On the Victoria Hostel Road (Canal Road), entry will only be allowed only via the Bharathi Salai, with no entry permitted from the Wallajah Road.
The Bells Road will be a one-way with vehicles allowed to enter only from the Bharathi Salai. They won’t be allowed to enter the Bells Road from the Wallajah Salai.
On the Bharathi Salai, all vehicles coming from Ratna Cafe towards the Kamarajar Salai will be diverted at the intersection of Bells Road and Wallajah Salai.
For those without parking passes, alternative parking arrangements have been made at Kalaivanar Arangam, Omandurar Medical College Ground, MRTS Chepauk station, PWD Ground in Chepauk and the Swami Sivanandham Salai.
In view of the Republic Day celebrations on Sunday, vehicles will not be allowed on the Kamarajar Salai (Marina Beach Road) -- from Napier Bridge to Kannagi statue -- starting 10pm Saturday.
