missing case on Thursday informed the Madras high court that they have got “important lead” in the case.


Additional public prosecutor R Prathap Kumar made the submission before a division bench of Justice M M Sundaresh and M Nirmal Kumar while producing the status report of the probe in a sealed cover.

Perusing the report, the bench noted that the vital clues could not be made public since it would affect the investigation and adjourned the plea to three weeks for the CB-CID to file a further report.

Alleging that

Mugilan

had gone missing after he had exposed the involvement of high-ranking police officers in the Tuticorin police firing, human rights activist Henri Tiphange moved a habeas corpus plea in the high court seeking a direction to the Tamil Nadu police to trace and produce the activist who has been missing since February 15.
