Police rescue woman who tried to kill self by jumping into sea

Chennai: A newly married woman who attempted to end her life over a quarrel with her husband by jumping into the sea off Marina Beach was rescued by police personnel patrolling the sands. A quarrel broke out between the two after Ponnurangam found unknown mobile numbers in her phone. In a fit of rage, Gayathri tried to commit suicide by jumping into the sea when police personnel patrolling the beach rescued her. The police personnel took Gayathri to the Marina police station.
