flyover at Guindy here after a group of 100 people, led by film

, staged a
protest on Thursday morning.
They blocked the
flyover
with an iron chain. Vehicles proceeding to Vadapalani and Anna Salai were stuck, resulting in an almost 3km-long traffic block in the area.
They were holding the protest in support of farmers and fishermen in the state. The protesters squatted on the road shouting slogans in favour of the farmers who have been staging a protest in Delhi since mid-March.
The protesters holding huge banners refused to move away. Later, police arrested Gowthaman and others, and traffic came back to normal after 45 minutes.
