Puri rath yatra: Arakkonam–Salem MEMU services cancelled
CHENNAI: Southern Railway has cancelled two MEMU express services running between Arakkonam and Salem from June 23, 2025 till further notice to accommodate increased train operations for the annual Puri rath yatra in Odisha.
As a result, No 16087 Arakkonam–Salem MEMU Express, which departs from Arakkonam at 5.15 am, and No 16088 Salem–Arakkonam MEMU Express, which leaves Salem at 3.30 pm, will remain suspended.
